Based in Reunion Island, a French Overseas Department, the Sapmer (Public limited company of sea fishing and supplying) fishes in cold waters of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands.
Quality fish are frozen on board and are later worldwide consumed. Toothfish, rock lobsters or comet grouper are principally exported towards Asia, Europe and the United States.
In the Indian Ocean, the shipping company has entered the market of tuna fishing, but also of the transformation of sea products, therefore controlling the food chain from the sea to the consumer's plate.
Proud of a know-how acknowledged for 60 years, the 300 members of the firm are strengthening their experience in these protected areas and are getting involved in the preservation of aquatic resources.
